Marathon Oil Corporation has become the first client of our newest initiative, MASSIVEGOOD Corporate.

Participating in the June 2010 launch of MASSIVEGOOD Corporate at the annual conference of the Global Business Coalition for HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis (GBC) in Washington, DC,  Marathon offered a donation of $50,000 – that’s 2$ for the next 25,000 business trips of their employees (roughly one year of travel for Marathon Oil). Adel Chaouch, Marathon’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, took the stage to make the kickoff donation:

“Marathon is pleased to participate in this unique campaign to help fight HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis,” said Mr. Chaouch. “We encourage the other 220 companies in the Global Business Coalition to join the effort, creating a multiplier effect for this worthwhile cause.”

Marathon is an integrated international energy company engaged in exploration and production; oil sands mining; integrated gas; and refining, marketing and transportation operations.  Marathon, which is based in Houston, has principal operations in the United States, Angola, Canada, Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, Libya, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom.  Marathon is the fourth largest United States-based integrated oil company and the nation’s fifth largest refiner.
